The pigpen is designed to maintain a constant temperature and humidity in the pen to provide a natural surrounding for the growth of pigs regardless of seasons and the difference between day and night. The pigpen (1) has the east wall and the west wall sealed but has roller curtains (2,3) for the south and north walls to meet projective walls (4,5) on the floor. The roof of the pen is divided into south and north sections in differenct heights to allow a gap (8) for ventilation, the south side roof having an opening to allow sun light through.
