PURPOSE:To improve security by comparing common information recorded both in the magnetic stripe part of a card, which uses both magnetic stripes and an integrated circuit, and the memory of the integrated circuit. CONSTITUTION:Among information read by a magnetic information reading means 1, the common information defined by a common information defining means 3 and on the other hand, among information read by an integrated circuit information reading means 2, the common information defined by the common information defining means 3. A common information comparing means 4 compares the both common information and reports the result by a reporting means 5. In this case, even when it is planned to illegally use the card by revising the information of the magnetic stripe part, the compared result is not coincident so as to report the abnormality since the information of the integrated circuit part can not be revised. Thus, the illegal use of the card can be prevented in advance. |
