PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce oscillation that occurs during movement of a sheet processing unit.SOLUTION: The sheet processing apparatus includes: a sheet processing unit that moves to perform sheet process to a sheet; a sheet process moving unit that moves the sheet processing unit; a driving mode determining unit that determines a driving mode of the sheet process moving unit; and a driving control unit that drives the sheet process moving unit in the driving mode. The driving mode determiner determines the driving mode such that the sheet processing unit moves at a synthesized acceleration, which is provided by synthesizing a first acceleration and a second acceleration with a time deviation determined based on the cycle of natural oscillation that occurs during acceleration of the sheet processing unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
