A boiler (1) for a distillation or rectification column and, more specifically, a boiler of the internal boiler type. This boiler (1) comprises - a coil-shaped heating means (2) shaped following at least one curve, provided with an entry (5) and an exit (6) for a means of supplying heat energy, - a chute (3) used in combination with the coil (2), open in its upper part (7), partly enclosing the coil (2), the said chute (3) being placed along substantially the whole length of the coil (2) so that, in section through any axial plane of the column, the upper edges (8, 9) of the chute (3) are at a height which is above that of the uppermost point (10) of the coil (2), - means (4) for distributing liquid into the chute. <IMAGE>
