PURPOSE:To prevent a fall of display contrast and improve sharpness by forming a liquid crystal layer consisting of a high polymer dispersion liquid crystal panel on an array base plate, and forming a counter electrode and a black matrix on the liquid crystal layer. CONSTITUTION:After a high polymer dispersion liquid crystal layer 21 is formed on a base plate 11 formed with a plurality of signal lines 23, an electrode layer 14 made of conductive substance having light transmitting property and a light intercepting layer 25 made of non-transmitting substance are formed on the upper layer of the liquid crystal layer 21. Namely, the polymer 21 is formed on the array base plate 11, the counter electrode 14 and the black matrix 25 are formed on the polymer 21, and hence there is no opposed base plate. Hereby, a fall of contrast can be reduced and display of high quality can be performed. |
