<p>PURPOSE:To rapidly and safely exchange an eroded nozzle for a fresh nozzle by fixing a gas blowing nozzle and a blind nozzle to the bottom of a molten metal container and providing a cylinder through which those nozzles are brought in and out. CONSTITUTION:Inert gas blowing nozzles 4 and blind nozzle 7 twice as many as the blowing nozzles outside the blowing nozzle are provided to the firebrick 3 at the bottom 2 of a molten metal container 1. A nozzle is fixed to the outer wall 10 on the periphery of the bottom 2, a detaching cylinder 11 is fixed, and flanges 12 and 13 are lap-jointed at its end. When the nozzle 4 is eroded by the high temp. of molten metal and exchanged, gas blowing is suspended, one blind nozzle 7 close to the nozzle is pulled out, the eroded nozzle is exchanged for a fresh nozzle 21, and gas blowing is continued. The nozzles 4 and 7 are easily extracted by an extracting device 22 such as a hydraulic jack after loosening the flanges 12 and 13 of the cylinder 11. Consequently, an eroded nozzle is easily and safely exchanged for a fresh one without need for work in a high-temp. furnace.</p> |
