The subject of the present invention is a road/rail excavator/loader with articulated chassis (8), produced with a central articulation (9), with respect to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, which allows perfect attitude both on road and rail journeys because it can operate (the articulation itself) both on road and on rail. This excavator/loader is provided with two separate transmissions, the first one intended for the road wheels and the second intended for those for the rails, completely revolutionising the current system in which the movement is transmitted to the rail wheels by friction of the wheels, tyres, or roller coaxial with the rail wheels. <IMAGE>
