The inductive system with an inductive load e.g. an inductor cable, has an a.c. power generator for supplying the inductive load. The generator contains a d.c. source (2) and transistor switches (4) connected to enable direct current flow through the load (1) by imposing a throughput direction inversion at a defined frequency. The d.c. current of the d.c. source is applied to at least two transistors connected to either end of the load. A transistor controller (6,9) alternately drives the transistors with a defined, adjustable frequency. ADVANTAGE - Esp. easier to operate than conventional ones, which have heavy, high maintenance generators.
