IMPROVED WOOD FIBER MAT FOR SOIL APPLICATIONS

Improved wood fiber mat, useful for drainage and erosion control, comprises a mixture of thermomechanically processed wood fibers and synthetic fibers. Preferably, the wood fibers are biodegradable and the synthetic fibers are photodegradable. The mat is made by mixing the fibers, laying them on the conveyor and then embossing to thermally bond and densify the mat in a selected pattern.
