The method consists in jacketing a rotationally driven mandrel (5) with a flexible support membrane (4), in winding, onto this membrane, rovings (6), (7) of strong fibres impregnated with curable synthetic resin, with constant or variable angles, then in slitting the support covered with the interlacing of rovings, opening it out, flattening it and thus forming a sheet whose anisotropy will be able to be controlled by varying the shape of the mandrel (5), the nature and the layers of the rovings (6), (7) laid down, and the angles of lay of the rovings. The invention applies to all industries using drape moulding of resin-impregnated synthetic fibres, in particular the sports, motor-vehicle and aeronautical industries. <IMAGE>
