METHOD FOR PROCESSING OF GLASS- FILLED COMPOSITE PRESS MATERIALS

This method is used for processing plastics. The end-result (electro-insulating objects and items) are used in the electrical engineering industry, transport machine construction, etc. The method regulates the alcoholic content in initial alcohol-soluble, glass-filled, composite-pressed materials on the basis of phenol formaldehyde resin or their modifications. It attains the necessary plasticity for preparation of products with intermittent glass fibers, oriented according to the applied complex mechanical and electric charges. It extends the term of use of the pressed materials, which have lost the standard alcohol content, but are not chemically obsolete. The treatment is implemented through direct pressing at a pressure between 30 and 50 MPa and temperature between 150 and 160 degrees C, or through press casting at a pressure between 50 and 100 MPa and temperature between 170 and 180 degrees C. Before pressing, the composite material is subjected to the influence of ethanol or methanol fumes in closed quantity, until the material reaches alcohol content between 5 and 12%.
