Process which comprises moulding, from polystyrene, a piece which represents the figure of an animal or a thing, which pieces are arranged or stored without being painted on a surface and which pieces are taken by hydraulically actuated arms which pass the pieces via points at which the surface has notches facing guns which paint the recesses, projections and free ends of the ribs which delimit the recesses of different colours, whilst a single arm takes each one of the pieces after painting and deposits them at the other end of the surface. <IMAGE>
