A new delivery and agitation device for composting systems enables the capacity and area of the system to be optimally used, and its size and throughput can be adjusted to the required capacity. The device consists of a conveyor having a layout which is triangular in cross-section and is mounted on a carriage which travels on rails. The dimensions and throughput of the conveyors are adjustable. The conveyor is in the form of an adjustable frame on which a conveyor belt is supported. This belt is provided with ridges (9) and rubber fingers (10) in order to loosen, mix and convey the composting material. The support frame is in the form of two parallel triangles, each having a rigid side (27) and second and third sides each consisting of a rigid section (28, 29) and a hydraulic cylinder (14, 15). The conveyor belt rollers (8, 8', 8") connect the corners of the two parallel triangles. All of the hydraulic cylinders are of the same size and type, and move in such a way that the length of the belt is not varied. USE/ADVANTAGE - In composting systems for converting organic waste, agriculture, cattle husbandry, parks and gardens. Provides efficient use of the available composting system capacity and allows fractionated composting to be carried out. The sizes of the device and of the system are flexible, so that the capacity of the system can be increased or reduced at little cost, while at the same time allowing access to all phases of the composting process. The time periods required for the process are also reduced.
