Apparatus for putting in fencing posts enabling a post, of different profiles, L-shaped, T-shaped, square-shaped, tube-shaped, rectangular, etc., to be maintained perfectly plumb in the two directions while it is being embedded. It consists of a support 11 to which are attached symmetrical rapid locking systems for putting in L-shaped posts at the two ends of a wall or of each side of a pillar. The support 11 is held vertically by a framework 12 to which are attached two levels 10 mounted on springs for precise adjustment during the manufacture of the tooling and of three locking screws 6. This upper part of the tooling is coupled to a tripod which includes a framework 1, a support 3 enabling the upper and lower part of the tooling to be coupled in two different positions on one side for the end posts and on the other side for the intermediate posts. A fixed foot and two adjustable feet are provided for putting in a post on a wall of different thickness or into the solid ground. These feet are each equipped with a jack 4; by acting on these jacks and with the aid of the inspection levels 10, a verticality of a post in the two directions is precisely adjusted. In the case of putting in posts directly into the ground, the maximum footing (base) of the tooling is used. Three plates 15 are provided so as to prevent the jacks from being pushed into the ground. The alignment of the posts is ensured by a line. On a wall, the height of the post is adjusted with respect to the horizontal level by having made a reference mark on the post beforehand. This apparatus is entirely made from steel. This device according to the invention is particularly intended for putting in posts of all types, into masonry or into green-field areas (gardens, parks). <IMAGE>
