A mounting element for supporting records, compact discs or similar items for presentation purposes is in the form of a spigot element (4) that is produced as a pressing or moulding. The element is thin walled and has a centre section with a form (5) such that it has a spring characteristic when subjected to an axial force. The hole in the record or disc fits over the centre section and axial pressure is applied the section deflects radially inwards to snap into position. The underside of the disc fits against an outer ring section (7). USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple system for supporting discs and records.
