<p>The air diffuser tube (2) is secured by a rod (9) to the flange portion (4) of the connector assembly (6), and the air supply tube (7) communicates with the tube portion (5) of the connector assembly (6). An orifice member (10) having an orifice (10a) is disposed in the tube portion (5) of the connector assembly (6) to define an air supply chamber (11) between the orifice member (10) and the flange portion (4) and a ball member (12) capable of openably closing the orifice (10a) is disposed in the air supply chamber (11). In the event of backflow of sewage from the air diffuser tube (2), the ball member (12) is urged by the stream of sewage to close the orifice (10a) thereby preventing flowing of sewage toward and into the air supply pipe (7) and restricting the flow of sewage into the air diffuser tube (2) to prevent clogging of the air diffuser tube by sludge. <IMAGE></p> |
