An electrophotographic recording apparatus having a photoconductive drum (1) having a toner image preformed thereon, a transfer station (5) having a transfer unit located above the photoconductive drum to transfer the toner image onto an underside surface of a paper (100) moving along a predetermined path extending between the photoconductive drum and the transfer unit, a fixing unit (7) provided along the path and downstream of a point of separation of the paper from the photoconductive drum, when ejected from the transfer station, to fix the toner image onto the paper with the recorded surface thereof facing down, and a guide (41) for smoothly guiding the leading end of the paper into an entrance of the fixing unit.
