PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a camera part, audio/video signal compression/expansion part and compressed data recording part in combination as needed by constituting these parts of a block. SOLUTION: This video camera is composed of three blocks of a camera part 2, compression/expansion part 3 and recording part 4 and the respective blocks are housed in independent casings 5a-5c. Then, a recording part 4a with a recording medium as a magnetic tape, recording part 4b as a hard disk, recording part 4c as an optical/magneto-optical disk and recording part 4d as a semiconductor are prepared in attachable/detachable structure. Besides, compression/expansion parts 3a-3d are prepared for various data compressing systems such as reversible compression, irreversible compression, intra-frame correlative compression and inter-frame correlative compression. Thus, the respective parts are combined corresponding to the purpose of use with the compression/expansion part 3 as a center and can be used while effectively utilizing the characters of respective recording media. |
