PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform total evaluation of coating ranges of wax in a short time.SOLUTION: A method for evaluating coating ranges of wax includes the steps of: acquiring a surface temperature of an uncoated region 16 not coated with the wax and a back surface temperature of a coated region 9 coated with the wax after a prescribed time has elapsed after being coated with the wax, in a member 3 to be coated, by imaging the member 3 by using infrared thermography; calculating an actual temperature difference between the back surface temperature of the coated region 9 and the surface temperature of the uncoated region 16; setting an allowable lower limit value of the temperature difference between the back surface temperature of the coated region 9 and the surface temperature of the uncoated region 16 in consideration of a temperature rise of the coated region 9 caused by coating with the wax; and evaluating a coating range of the wax on the basis of the actual temperature difference and the allowable lower limit value of the temperature difference. The step of setting the allowable lower limit value includes setting the allowable lower limit value of the temperature difference in consideration of a temperature rise of the uncoated region 16 caused by heat transfer from the coated region 9 to the uncoated region 16. |
