In the system a number of pt. coordinates (P1-P10) to be determined by positions on the center axis of rotation and rotation angles of the rotating shaft are set on the outer periphery of the model (6) and profiling is performed on the basis of electric potential lines connecting a number of pts. (P1-P5, P6-P10) to each other. Hence, even when profiling of a model having a shape varying along the center axis of the rotating body, such as a groove in a cylindrical cam, is performed, the time taken for profiling can be reduced by encircling only a groove zone with the electric potential lines for defining, whereby the groove only can be profiled with high precision. |
