The device for liquid crystal display (LCD) comprises a means for generating the basic pattern signal for the test, a means for detecting actually indicated pattern from the LCD, a means for converting the pattern detecting signal into a signal in comparison with the basic pattern signal from the pattern detecting means and signal generator, a means for comparing and deciding the signal from the signal generator and converter. The device comprises polarizing plates (PL1,PL2), LCD device (M), pattern detector (PS) at the lower part, and light source (LG).
