The control device and its insertion card (1) have been designed for transmitting data between a telephone network for digital data and terminal equipment with at least one processor and digital memory elements. On the card, an interface matches the telephone network (2), while an interface is provided for the processor (7). There are also HDLC (3) and I/O packages (4) for developing the control and data channel procedures for the processor. Speech data from the telephone network can be fed into the memory elements of the terminal, or, alternatively, speech data from the memory elements can be passed to the telephone network. ADVANTAGE - Usual telematic services can be performed, such as teletext, facsimile and file transfer, with other possibilities.
