In an apparatus for drying gases, in particular compressed air, by cooling, having at least one gas conduction system, having a cooling device which is equipped with a heat exchange device through which flows a coolant medium, a refrigeration unit for cooling the coolant to a temperature such that the liquid contained in the gas or the vapour contained in the gas is precipitated in the form of ice, and a de-icing device, in addition to a main gas conduction system, a further gas conduction system is provided which includes the de-icing device and to which warm coolant can be fed from the main gas induction system, at least two defrosters being provided for the de-icing device, at least one of which can be operated regeneratively as desired, and there being arranged downstream of the defroster in the second gas conduction system a collection vessel which is connected to each of the defrosters and from which consumers of cold are supplied unrestrictedly. <IMAGE> |
