The piston actuator is pressure-loaded via high-pressure line with inbuilt feed valve into a piston pressure space coupled to a valve shaft. The pressure load opens the piston which is latched home and when closed in response to a valve-closing spring cocked during opening. To open the valve cock the pressure spring (4) should remain connected to the high-pressure line (5) until the valve lifts off its seat and reaches pre-set acceleration. Once the valve has unseated the pressure space connects to the low-pressure line (6) via a relief valve (8) as long as the high-pressure line is locked through the feed valve (7).
