A method and apparatus for sending an enhanced physical downlink control channel. The method comprises: respectively preprocessing a plurality of pieces of downlink control information about a user equipment, wherein the preprocessing comprises channel coding, scrambling, modulation and layer mapping; pre-coding the plurality of pieces of preprocessed downlink control information; and mapping data obtained after pre-coding to the same group of time-frequency resources in an enhanced physical downlink control channel so as to generate an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing symbol and transmit same. By means of the solution, the coverage and capacity of an enhanced physical downlink control channel are both improved, the use efficiency of an enhanced physical downlink control channel resource can also be improved, and time-frequency resources are saved. |
