The problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a composition that has positive Δε, has a liquid-crystal phase in a wide temperature range, low viscosity, good solubility at low temperature, high specific resistance and voltage retention rate, and stability with respect to heat and light, and, through the use of the composition, to furthermore provide at a good yield an IPS-type, TN-type, or the like liquid-crystal display that has excellent display quality and is not liable to produce burn-in, dropping marks, or other display defects. The present invention provides: a composition containing one or more compounds represented by general formula (i) and a compound represented by formula (L-1-2.2); and also a liquid-crystal display in which the composition is used and an IPS device or FFS device in which the composition is used. |
