Power output control method for laser system - using variable time delay between stimulation of laser oscillator and stimulation of laser amplifier

The control system regulates the output power of the laser by controlling the delay between the time slot of the laser oscillator stimulation energy and the time slot of the laser amplifier stimulation energy. The stimulation energy for the laser amplifier and the stimulation energy for the laser oscillator are each held constant. Pref. a TEA-CO2 laser is used for both the laser oscillator and the laser amplifier, the stimulation energy for both provided by a switched current source using solid state components. ADVANTAGE - Accurate and stable control of power output over large range without varying excitation energy, by stabilising laser oscillator and amplifier.
