Yarn winding machine for cross-wound reels - has traverse motion by rotor arms and variable speed gearing

A yarn winding machine is suitable for crosswound reels. The reel is wound on a tube held on a spindle by a traverse motion and a guide. The traverse is driven by two rotors in opposing directions. The yarn is carried across the face of the guide by an upper rotor arm one way, and a lower rotor arm the other way. The constantly variable speed of drive to each rotor is by means of synchronised eccentric gear wheels. The driving spindle (1) pref. has a steady speed motor to revolve the tube (5), on which the reel (6) is formed. The yarn (4) in direction (10) surrounds the roller face (11) to press on to the wound package. ADVANTAGE - The reel is a more stable prod. despite the very high speed of winding. The energy requirement for the traverse motion is distributed evenly.
