Disclosed is a flexible cable assembly (10) for reliably transmitting motion along a predetermined path in high temperature environments. The assembly comprises a flexible tubular conduit (31), a crosslinked polyethylene tubular liner (30) for the conduit and a core member (11) movably contained within the conduit for transmitting force or torque along the predetermined path. The assembly preferably exhibits a fictional efficiency of at least about 80 % over 500,000 cycles of the 200 DEG F S-test.
