<p>The benzodiazepines of formula <CHEM> where X and Y are each independently selected from H, halogen, and lower alkyl; R<1><0> and R<1><1> are both H, or one of R<1><0> and R<1><1> is H and the other is methyl, or R<1><0> and R<1><1> together are -(CH2)n- where n = 4 or 5; Z is a ring selected from the group consisting of <CHEM> where one or more carbon atoms in said ring Z can be substituted by F, Cl or lower alkyl; as well as the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts, carbamates, ureas and amides thereof can be used as therapeutically active agent, especially as antiviral agents, particularly for the treatment, therapy or prophylaxis of AIDS and AIDS-related diseases.</p> |
