The method consists of making a cylindrical hole (4) through the stud (1) perpendicular to its axis (17) and adjacent to its first threaded portion.This is followed by machining a curved groove (7) in the component (20) which receives the stud. The width of the groove is slightly greater than that of the hole through the stud, screwing the stud into its threaded hole (21) in the receiving component so that the hole (4) and the groove are aligned, and inserting a locking pin through the hole so that its ends project into the groove. The pin can be curved in shape or slightly flexible to facilitate its insertion, and two wedges (10) can be used to block the pin in the groove and prevent it from coming out during operation. ADVANTAGE - Stud is held in place even under intense vibration.
