Equipment for automatically modifying configuration of bed or chair - using portable proofed linen inflatable cushions fed from motorised compressor under control of rocking valves

A bed has inflatable cushions (7) at its head and foot arranged to modify the lying and sitting position. The cushions which are flat when cut of use are made from linen proofed with rubber or plastic and have triangular sides formed to function as bellows. A control unit (6) receives electric power (1) and supplies it to a motor driven compressor (5). The control unit (6) has flexible air pipe connections (4) to the cushions and individual rocking valves to inflate or deflate each cushion as required. The equipment may also be applied to chairs. ADVANTAGE - The equipment allows varying configurations to be produced on beds not specifically designed for the purpose.
