<p>The invention relates to a method for producing metals, particularly steel,from oxidised ores, and particularly iron ores, in a reduction meltingfurnace covered on the top with ore of any particle size which is reheated tothe melting point and pre-reduced by the hot reducing gases from the base ofthe blast furnace via a grid supporting the ore column; the melting liquidconsisting of pre-reduced ore and possibly molten iron and gangue passes dropby drop through the base grid in the opposite direction of the gas movementand flows downwards via a well into a suitable container, where both thefinal reduction and separation of the molten metal, preferably iron, with thegangue and undesirable elements take place, and from where the metal,preferably iron, is routed to a suitable use.</p> |
