PURPOSE:To carry a separate section singly being a component together with a main body of the video telephone set, to pick up an optional object, to store the picked-up picture in a picture memory and to send the stored picture to an opposite party during talking. CONSTITUTION:A telephone set main body 11 consists of a display section 14 and an image pickup section 15. A video image formed on a CCD image pickup element 31 through a lens 30 is photoelectric-converted in the image pickup section 15 and the converted signal is sent to an A/D converter 33 as an electric signal. The A/D converter 33 converts the signal from the CCD image pickup element 31 into a digital signal to obtain picture data, and the obtained picture data are sequentially fed to a controller 29. The controller 29 writes once the picture data sent sequentially in the order of addresses suitable for a mirror image/real image in response to the switching state of a separation switch 35 provided under the image pickup section 15, and reads the data when the data by one pattern are arranged and sends the data to a microcomputer 24. |
