摘要 <p>The invention relates to a method and a plant for the environmentally friendly disposal and recycling of hollow glass containing mercury or mercury vapours, in particular from the group comprising gas-filled lamps and their cylinders, tubes, bulbs and the like. In a first step, lamps, tubes, bulbs and the like, introduced in the delivery state into an inner space of a disposal apparatus, the said inner space being capable of being closed off in a gas-tight manner relative to the atmosphere and the environment and of being brought to below atmospheric pressure, are freed by gas scavenging and/or evacuation of gases or vapours introduced together with them, directly surrounding them or adhering to them on the outside, these gases or vapours being collected. Subsequently, in a second step which, if appropriate, can be separated from the first step, the said lamps, tubes, bulbs and the like are broken and comminuted, and, furthermore, in a third step immediately following the second step, with the broken glass being transported further and moved along in or through a heating zone, with a predetermined dwell time in the latter being maintained, the gases or vapours coming from the inside of the lamps, bulbs or tubes and released are drawn off, led out of the third step and collected. Finally, in a fourth step, the solid waste comprising broken glass, metal fragments, luminous substances and the like is collected, before being discharged for its possible further conditioning.</p>
