Assembly consisting of a friction member (10) and a spring (40) for vehicle disk brakes, comprising a support plate (12) slidingly secured by its peripheral ends (16, 18) to a torque bearing member (24) of the disk brake, at least one peripheral end (18) of the support plate (12) comprising a rounded surface (22) co-operating in a sliding and securing manner with a rounded surface (32) defined on the torque bearing member (24), one of the rounded surfaces (32) being concave and the other rounded surface (22) being convex. The curve radius of the convex surface (22) is less than the curve radius of the concave surface (32). The friction member (10) is lodged with a predefined peripheral clearance (B) in the torque bearing member (24), so that the friction member (10) can adopt first and second furthermost peripheral positions corresponding to the securing of the support plate (12) on the torque bearing member (24) by means of a first peripheral end (16) or a second peripheral end (18) respectively, according to the disk's direction of rotation. The spring (40) urges the friction member (10) into a first furthermost peripheral position, continually engaging the rounded surface (32) defined on the torque bearing member (24). According to the invention, the spring (40) comprises an active part (42) which co-operates with the opening (36) in the convex rounded portion (18) and a reactive part (44, 46) which co-operates with the edges (60, 62) of the concave rounded portion (32). |
