<p>Thermal-effect apparatus (30) comprising a hot body and an indicator for visualising the temperature of the hot body, the indicator comprising, on the one hand, a temperature reducer (10) in plate form, one of the ends being in contact with the hot body and the other end being connected to an unheated part and, on the other hand, a substance (12) exhibiting a transition of a visual property, which substance is arranged on the temperature reducer at a location such that it undergoes its transition between ambient temperature and a so-called safety temperature at which the user may touch the hot body. By applying the same principle, a second substance may also be arranged on the temperature reducer so that this second substance undergoes a transition which demonstrates that the hot body has reached a so-called "ready for use" temperature.
