The paint roller has a side bush (13), which is clamped directly to the roller tube (7), and projects freely into the tube. A clamp head (22) is pushed into the bush, and clamps the folded edge strip (6) from inside against the bush. The head is locked in the bush. The sleeve clamp cage (17) is integral with the bush tube shoulder (16).The cage is limited at an axial end by knobs (18), which project radially inwards. These limit an internal axial passage, and the compressed sleeve clamp (19) passes through it axially. The cage is formed by a tubular section, with an OD smaller than that of the tube shoulder.
