A novel pyrrolotriazole derivative is disclosed, represented by any one of formulae (I), (II), (III), (IV), or (V): <IMAGE> (I) <IMAGE> (II) <IMAGE> (III) <IMAGE> (IV) <IMAGE> (V) A heat transfer dye providing material is also disclosed, comprising a support having thereon a dye providing layer containing a heat migrating dye, said dye providing layer containing at least one pyrrolotriazole azomethine dye represented by any one of formulae (I), (II), (III), or (IV).
