Composition including at least one basic aluminium polychloride or polychlorosulphate, at least one compound based on iron(II) and/or iron(III) and at least one salt chosen from alkali and alkaline-earth metal halides. The invention relates to a method for preparing this composition and to its use in a process for treating aqueous media.
