<p>An item of apparatus (1) for controlling a vehicle continuous transmission (3) comprises a means (19) for setting the reference angular velocity (NE) of an engine (2) in accordance with at least the speed (V) of the vehicle and with a matching coefficient (A) indicating a travel condition; a means (18) for fuzzy inference of the said matching coefficient (A) on the basis of input values encompassing, inter alia, the speed (V) of the vehicle, a gear-change ratio (R) and a rate of variation ( DELTA V) of the speed of the vehicle; and a means (20) for controlling the gear-change ratio (R) on the basis of the said coefficient (A) derived by the said inference means (18) so as to obtain the said reference angular velocity (NE). <IMAGE></p> |
