The security paper comprises a rectangular sheet of paper having two opposing planar surfaces defining a paper thickness and a paper length. The paper thickness is uniform along the paper length. Printed indicia is provided which is legible on both the surfaces under reflective illumination, for identifying the subject of the paper. The security indicia comprises metal characters on a plastics strip intermediate the surfaces, providing authenticity to the paper. The metal characters are undetectable to the unaided eye under reflective illumination while becoming legible in transmitted illumination through both the surfaces. |
