<p>The sealed electrical connector includes a housing having an interior cavity for sealingly receiving a mating connector. A latch holds the connectors in mated condition, a passageway communicating the interior cavity with the environment. A seal is provided for sealing and closing the passageway. A release mechanism is operatively associated between the latch and the seal for biasing the seal and opening the passageway to release air entrapped in the cavity during mating of the connectors. The latch comprises an arm having a first portion for latchingly engaging the mating connector and a second portion defining the release mechanism. The housing is fabricated of moulded material and the latch arm is integrally moulded with it.</p> |
