Modular fencing consisting essentially of meshwork panels composed of two superimposed layers of horizontal and vertical wires, of support posts and of a means of locking the meshwork panels onto the support posts, characterised in that the ends of all or some of the horizontal wires (4) are deformed in order to increase their vertical dimension locally, in that the support posts (2) have slots (9), the front part (10) of which allows engagement of the deformed ends of the horizontal wires (4) and the rear part (11) of which allows passage only of the non-deformed diameter of the horizontal wires (4) and has a limit stop effect for the deformed ends of the horizontal wires (4). <IMAGE>
