According to a first embodiment, the invention concerns a multilayer composite material intended for medical or paramedical use, comprising an inner non-slip layer 3 in contact with the skin, and a second layer 2 having elasticity properties. This material is advantageously in the form of a band with longitudinal elasticity, or in the form of an assembly of such bands side by side, for the formation of a ring or hoop which is used either alone, with the simple aim of holding in position, or in combination with another ring, which lies some distance away on the other side of a joint and which is connected to the first ring by at least one strap with limited elasticity for the purpose of ligament support. <IMAGE>
