Lubrication pump for supplying the lubrication circuit of an internal combustion engine with oil under pressure, of the type including a housing (1) having an intake orifice and a delivery orifice emerging in an internal space in which there are a driving pinion (2) and a driven pinion (3) with parallel axes meshing together so as to transfer oil from the intake orifice to the delivery orifice, characterised in that the said driven pinion (3) is mounted so that it can move axially inside the said housing (1) under the action of operating means (5, 8, 7) so as to vary the length of engagement of the two pinions (2, 3) as a function of the delivery pressure of the pump. <IMAGE>
