Control of plant parasitic nematodes comprises applying 4-phenyl-3-butyl-2-one (I), phenyl-vinyl sulphide (II), trans-cinnamaldehyde (III), phenyl vinyl sulphoxide (IV); trans-4-phenyl-3-buten-2-one (V); gamma -phenyl-gamma -butyrolactone (VI); 1,3-diphenylacetone (VII), and/or trans-1,3-diphenyl-2-propen-1-one (VIII).
