STEP JUMP CONTROL APPARATUS & METHOD OF OPTICAL-MAGNETO DRIVER

The step jump error caused by moving speed and eccentric speed of a tracking actuator is decreased by using double break pulse so that a laser beam tracks a target track exactly. The method comprises the steps of: (a) generating pulse signal in response to step jump command signal; (b) generating pulse signal of the opposite polarity to the pulse signal generated in the step (a) when tracking error signal is greater than certain level; and (c) generating pulse signal of the same polarity but of a certain pulse width and amplitude as pulse signal generated in the step(b).
