The present invention relates to an information processing device and an information processing method which enable reliably recognizing the on-screen position of a divided image, or an image comprising multiple divided images, corresponding to an encoded stream. A position extending to outside of a screen is configured as the on-screen position of an end image which comprises a left end image and a right end image corresponding to encoded streams. This invention can be applied, for example, to a file generation device in an information processing system which delivers, to a video playback terminal, an encoded stream of celestial sphere images as images of video content in a manner conforming to MPEG-DASH. |
