1. An electrophotographic photosensitive member comprising:
an electrically conductive support; a first intermediate layer formed directly on the electrically conductive support, said first intermediate layer comprising a silica particle, and a polymerized product of a composition comprising an electron transporting substance having a polymerizable functional group and a crosslinking agent; a second intermediate layer on the first intermediate layer, said second intermediate layer comprising a binder resin and a metal oxide particle; a charge generating layer on the second intermediate layer; and a hole transporting layer on the charge generating layer, wherein the content (% by mass) of the electron transporting substance in the composition of the first intermediate layer is 0.4 to 1 time the content (% by mass) of the metal oxide particle based on the total mass of the second intermediate layer.
